About the event

Join period instrument ensemble 'Les Bougies Baroques’ & mezzo-soprano Maria Ostroukhova on an 18th-century journey shedding light on a rivalry between two composers – an infamously bitter rivalry which arose out of an even more bitter one at the heart of Britain's new Georgian monarchy: that between King George II and his son Frederick Prince of Wales, who patronised Handel's [Second] Royal Academy of Music & Porpora's Opera of the Nobility respectively.
